— The Challenge
Bangladeshi eCommerce has constraints an off-the-shelf WooCommerce install does not handle: pricing in Taka across a wide ৳270–৳4,230 range, a local payment gateway, bilingual Bengali and English shoppers, and a customer base that buys largely on mobile data.
Stock is also not binary here. The store sells in-stock items, pre-orders, and sold-out lines side by side, and hiding the difference until checkout is how a store loses repeat buyers.
— The Approach
Restructured the catalogue into shoppable groups — supplements, weight lifting, belts, yoga, activewear, bags, footwear — instead of one long product list, so category pages carry the browsing load.
Integrated AamarPay so customers pay with local cards and mobile wallets, rather than dropping off at an international gateway.
Made stock state explicit on the card itself with pre-order, new-arrival, sale and sold-out badges, so expectations are set before anything reaches the cart.
Wired monthly coupon campaigns and Super Sale merchandising into the same product data, so a promotion is a flag on existing products rather than a duplicated catalogue.
— The Result
A working WooCommerce store where shoppers browse by clear categories, see on each product card whether an item is in stock, on pre-order or sold out, and pay with local cards and mobile wallets through AamarPay.
Promotions such as monthly coupons and Super Sale pricing are managed through the existing product data, so the team can run them without duplicating the catalog.
